Joan is a beautiful Jamaican woman who attends church regularly and is engaged to Michael, the man of her dreams. Her life long dream of a fairy tale wedding is suddenly destroyed when she discovers that her fiancé is actually sleeping with her maid of honor and best friend. She is devastated and made a laughing stock across the whole island.
She cannot bear the hurt and flees to Canada to weather the storm unfolding in her broken heart. She soon meets the very handsome and very rich Peter, who is the only white brother in an all black church. He falls in love with her at first sight.
He tells her that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and that God allowed her engagement to Michael to fall apart for a reason, and that reason is so that she and her new man could forever be together. Joan is very doubtful, and as the old saying goes, once bitten, twice shy.
Peter is distraught that Joan wants nothing to do with him, and she is shocked when he begins to pray that God will touch her heart with an unbreakable and undeniable love for him.
She is determined to resist his advances, his charms and his prayers. Only she knows only too well that God works in mysterious ways, and that God's will must be done whether she is in agreement with it or not. A strong dose of reciprocal love for Peter may just be what doctor Jesus ordered. This Christian romance is based on a true story, with each detail careful preserved and depicted. But, being a Christian romance, there are no actual sex scenes in this book.

I liked that the book was based on a true story. Felt the author didn't develope the story enough. It felt like she rushed to write it. I found myself asking questions about the characters. once I got into the book it was over. This was my first book that I download on my kindle. I am glad I didn't pay much to read it. It had the potential to be a great book with and awesome story. What I did really appreciate was that she didn't write anything explict between the two characters.

Always On His Mind Interracial Christian Romance edition by Marsha Cassendrew Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I liked this story because it is based on true accounts of the lives of this couple the problems they. Face toether
There was far too much profanity and descriptive sexual images. The story seemed far fetched and too choppy. I would not recommend this book.
This is the third book that I read by this author. The first book I read was "Homeless When She Found Him Interracial Romance" and I enjoyed it even through it was very short. The second book was "Somebody New An Interracial True Love" and it was just okay. I would give this third book the same number of stars that I gave the second and here's why

The heroine Joan finds out that her fiancé has been sleeping with her best friend, and because of island gossip and they all go to the same church everyone finds out about the situation very quickly. So her mother sends her to a fellow church in Canada hoping that she will get over her heartbreak.

Joan is not at the moment interested in finding a new love because she is still struggling over the old one. However, she does catch the eye of the only white guy in her church and he is relentless in his pursuit (you'll need to read this see what I mean).

This story was supposed to be based on a true story, and I am sure the actual story of the couple was better than the book. I was left feeling like I really didn't get to know the heroine except for her whining and complaining about being pursued by the hero. I did however feel like I got to know Peter (hero) a little better because his past drug and alcohol abuse and his now commitment to God was discussed. I didn't completely feel the chemistry between Peter and Joan until her unfortunate return to Jamaica (no spoilers here).

There was a request by Joan's mother to get money from Peter for things that was needed in the house or for her siblings. This bothered me because it seemed like Peter was being used for his money considered no one in her family had actually met Peter at this time.

If the story was a little more flushed out then I would have probably been able to see the love relationship clearer. Also it was stated that this was a Christian romance and outside of the reference about the proper way for men and women to meet and church and that women should be pure before marriage I would not have really known that this was a Christian romance (there was not a lot of indication of praying or even references to the Bible).

Because of the first book I would still read another book from this author, because I feel that she could only get better.
